Who are your male role models?

I don’t have conversations with friends about their expectations during sexual intimacy.

My grandfather. He was such a gentleman and fun and all the ladies were all over him

I admire friends who are confident and live authentically without worrying what anyone else is thinking

John Butler: A street busker turned professional musician who is able to support his family through his art.

Bowie: Being somehow effeminate while also making women around the world swoon for him.

Marilyn Manson: Resilience after having his entire life and career shattered and coming back stronger than ever.

James Bond: Always staying cool under immense pressure, being in control.

My role models are men of character, of integrity, courage, wisdom and self-discipline. Who never stop trying and never give up. Who seek to make the world a better place for themselves and their families. Who love deeply and live fully, not wasting the moment, the days or the hours.

Robert Downey Jr
Because he carries himself the way he wants, not by anyone else’s standards

Wise, experienced and knowledgeable. Strong values and ready to fight for others

Men who are generous. Men who are faithful. Men who stay healthy and in shape. Men who are honest. Men who are unselfish. Men who are good husbands, good dads and good sons. Men who are good friends, but not over friendly with women other than their partner.

There’s alot of names throughout history I admire, but I see further back in the thread somebody put their grandfather.
I’d agree with that.
I only knew him as an old man, he had a quiet, confident and loving manner. To me as a child, and absolutely dedicated to his family.
Only as an adult, I’d learned of his wartime service and where that quiet confidence came from.
Courage and dedication is what I aspire to.

I think this is one of my struggles, I don’t have a lot of positive male role models in my life. My dad’s dad died when I was young and my mom’s dad always negative to me. My dad was always gone at work and when he was home he was always angry. That’s a hard apot to be.

Men in my life who have show balance in how they live.

I look up to men of integrity, who carry themselves in a stoic, and respectful manner, who can demand respect without overdoing anything.

Men who create the world around them instead of just living in it, confident, hard worker, someone who demands the people around him to be just as hard working. Some one who sets the tone in every room he walks into.

Men who are unafraid to create a safe space where others can feel validated in their feelings or vulnerabilities.

Confident and integral men.

This is important topic. My father was a negative role model. Charming alcoholic, physically nonviolent, but neglected his wife and wasn’t able to support my growth to a man. So I was hungry of any model and looked up to “tough guys”. Took a couple of decades and quite some harm to overcome.

Someone who doesn’t compare themselves to other men and behaves freely. Two things that have always been an issue for me. I oftentimes compare myself to other men and immediately see myself and the inferior one

Confident and in control m’en

I lost my father at a young age (8) and my two brothers weren’t great role models. The men I’ve admired the most were fit, polished, in control, and seemed to command respect and admiration without having to say a word. Women’s eyes lit up around them, they just gave an aura of attraction. They we unapologetic

Men who push themselves to do hard things and get stuff done. The creative genius has always been more feminine to me, and oddly more in line with what I identify with. I’m not proud of anything I’ve accomplished in life (except for thr shitty 10 minutes of stand up comedy I did once), I think a lot of this stems from that. I hate me, and I don’t want to be percieved by anyone currently.
