Who are your male role models?

Men whom live by morals like Bruce Lee, Bob Marley, and Tupac Shakur. No apology but still respectful. Focused on a mission and clear about who they are the good, bad and ugly.

My friend who I practice martial arts with- he’s 78 and started a family in his 50s. He adores and idolizes his wife and two daughters , and believes in truth, compassion, and honesty above all else.

My father is a man who I think lives outside the box and is authentic when it comes to showing affection. He is always the one expressing his love and hugging my mom. He never has told me that a man should act like this or that. He’s always seeking to make people laugh even if it’s at his own expense. I admire him because he laid the groundwork for have a non traditional view of masculinity. I had other influences in my life that would reinforce the traditional views of masculinity but he’s been the biggest voice thankfully.

My father has changed so much over the course of my life to become a more patient and vulnerable man. I admire his willingness and openness to changing - we can always change.

The men I admire include Malcolm X, Bob Marley, and Muhammad Ali, who spoke truth to power, despite what it cost them.
My contemporary role models would be Barack Obama and Denzel Washington, who outwardly display the goodness and wisdom of manhood including unequivocably caring for wife and family.

A man with the purpose to make his and the lives of all other people close to him better. A man confident in his own self and his abilities, but one that always is striving for self improvement as well

My father, brother, and uncles. I was fortunate to have such great male role models in my life when I was younger. They were all charismatic, kind, and reliable, and they had an impressive impact on their families and friends.

Probably my friend Lindsay. He is one of the sharpest, competent and also charismatic individuals I’ve met. But what I admire most is his conviction, and how despite being tactful, he never shies away from his own opinion

Christopher Hitchens, Michael Troy, Micheal Larsen, Miles Davis, Bernie Sanders. One experience and you immediately know exactly who they are and how they are. They live(d) their own lives their way.

Salvador Dali. Far from a perfect human being, but also a brilliant artist, super eccentric and unapologetically true to himself.

to be honest i don’t think i really have any role models i aspire to be like
