Several years ago, I became quite ill with GI issues, so much so I lost 20 pounds. My doctor finally figured out I have lactose, sucrose and gluten intolerance. There aren’t a lot of options for what I can eat. I notice if I have an upset stomach, then my balls go up and my penis shrinks. Although I have my GI issues under much better control, they will still happen at times. Could there be a link between my inconsistent erections and GI issues? Could this stress my pelvic floor muscles, lower libido, decrease blood flow, cause lack of nutrients needed for sex?
Hi! I also suffer from gastro issues which are currently labelled ‘IBS’ but under further investigation. They have worsened over the last couple of years, which is when I’ve begun to have more extreme ED. I feel that there appears to be a link with flare ups and ED (mine is also inconsistent) but whether that’s coincidence, stress of feeling ill or more I don’t know? I have brought it up several times with drs, but they don’t seem to see the connection or want to label it as a separate medical issue, but to me it’s becoming more obvious. Sort the gastro issue and get better erections?
Thanks for replying. Sorry to hear about your IBS. I have done some research and found good randomized controlled trials to suggest a link between consistently taking probiotics for 4 weeks and a decrease in ED related issues. It apparently helps absorb testosterone better when your gut has a better flora. Also, whose libido can be ramping up when their stomach has other plans?
I think you are right with your last question/statement.
