In the past, I had the strangest happening. I was only able to finish when I tightened and extended my legs muscles as hard as I could. Has anyone else had this before?
I have had this exact same issue. Still deal with it.
Weird, either it’s a neurological quirk or maybe tightening your legs and extending them is just how you force out an orgasm.
Snap, but also holding my breath. Learned and practiced the importance of breathing (just normally or at a increased pace) during sex/masturbation and I found that I tense up way less now. It’s really quite amazing how much better orgasms are when you ‘let go’ of the tension and just allow the pleasure of touching take over instead of trying to ‘force’ it muscularly. Hope this helps!
I have the same problem as OP and I agree with this comment. I feel like if you tighten your leg muscles, you are FORCING yourself to cum, and not let yourself cum naturally.
Maybe try this, tighten and relax your leg muscles from time to time and as you feel like you’re about to cum, relax your legs and don’t tighten it again and just continue doing what you’re doing until you cum. I swear it will feel completely different (which for me felt very good)
It’s not something I always need to cum, but that leg tension does make it easier and I find myself doing it if I’m having trouble. I think there is something physiological going on there.
I’ve experienced similar things from time to time. The extra tension in the legs can sort of force me over the edge. It stopped working when having sex with my wife, but was pretty reliable solo.
Since starting some of the more mindful work here, I’ve been trying to just relax instead, because that tension isn’t helping me cum with a partner and is exhausting after awhile..
What I’ve found is that by relaxing and trying to tune into sensation when I’m solo, I can really build arousal way higher. Occasionally, it’s not enough to make me cum, so I’ve started just being willing to walk away with out climax and come back to it later if I’m still in the mood. The benefit is that the orgasm that finally happens is way more powerful than my old tense habit.
I read somewhere that tensing your legs increases pressure in the pelvic region, so it’s like, forcing more blood into your penis, which heightens sensation. It’s a common tactic in men who don’t feel as sensitive. Then, over time, our brains build a link between the tense legs and orgasm, which can become a reliance on the mechanical triggers for orgasm, rather than the pleasure of arousal. There’s something I recall about the tensing of muscles also stimulating nerves but I can’t recall exactly, it’s like a feedback signal, so it’s stimulating but also kinda stressful. It’s less about pleasure and more about performance - “get it done” - and then we start relying on it to make it happen.
Relax.
Bring your attention to your legs as part of your pleasure, see what happens if you sit with the soles of your feet touching, or kneeling so that your heels apply a bit of pressure into your butt muscles, see what that does ![]()
Go slow with new positions, you could cramp if your not used to it ![]()
Thanks! Definitely going to try that
I’m not sure if you are dealing with decreased sensitivity issues. This could be due to how you masturbate. I have had issues with “death grip” and it has led to reduced sensation before. This causes me to try to tighten my legs and I will end up cramping.
I would consider a pause from masturbation to reset or modify how you are doing it. It ends up makes a huge difference.
