What scripts did you learn growing up?

“Shame, shame, shame”

No I learned through porn.

In the religious environment I grew up in, sex was only discussed as a form of procreation and rarely discussed as a form pleasure, even even in committed marital relationships. However, in school one could get a variety of messages/jokes about bodies and sex, always indicating that men were either strong, virile, and hung or weak and gay. Penis size was also a way to insult one’s masculinity, even if no one really knew each other’s size.

The idea that bigger was always better, you had to be performant and know what you were doing, lot of ideas that sex should look like porn too

That my ability to have sex was reflective of my worth as a man

Wasn’t really talked about at home

Parents were divorced, dad wasn’t around, so everything I learned about sex was on the schoolyard
