I hope to understand more deeply the root cause of the shame I hold over the moral incongruence i sense and whether that is actually my morals
what cutting back would give me the time and energy to do
Why it feels more shameful to watch porn when in a relationship than when not
I believe my compulsion stems from mental health issues; however, this requires further exploration form my self-exploration. I am also open to examining my thoughts, feelings, and desires. Clearly, there are many things I am not aware of.
If porn use is the problem or if im using it as an excuse for something else.
The “ride the wave” principle that there’s an eventual peak and decline— not an unstoppable rise in my urges
I’m curious to dissect my own beliefs about morals when it comes to sex, how religion and culture confined them. I feel a great shame bc my compulsion had me go against these programmed beliefs and I’m very curious to see what it would look like for me to accept parts of me that I would of labelled as “sinful” and what it would look like in a healthy relationship with myself and a partner
that’s very relatable. In religious households we’re taught that sexuality is bad. That’s so damaging, long term even in relationships that wouldn’t be considered sinful (ie marriage) … so it’s really counter productive. But it’s especially damaging if you no longer hold those beliefs (which is perfectly valid — you were indoctrinated at too young of an age, and now you’re an adult who can think for yourself). It’s hard to shake them and free yourself. But you can. It’s been a long journey that’s still ongoing for me but I feel much better at 40 then I did in my 20s and 30s, what should have been mg prime sexual years. It’s never too late.
Why it feels shameful to watchs o much porn when in a relationship but also is porn really the problem? or is it something else
I think I’ve used this for so long in my life it’s become an automatic response to dealing with stress and depressive emotions. I’m interested in seeing where one leads into the next and what habits I can adopt to replace my reliance on it and what deeper emotions bring it out in me
The possibility of more effective and gentle ways to self soothe. Also the possibility of integrating my kinks, and escaping the shame loop induced by porn.
I’m curious as to why on the one hand I can accept sexual expression in others and even share a lot of it with my partner. But still fear this side of me that is sexually deviant and lusts for more
I wonder if my sexual fantasies would actually please me in real life. If I was put into one of those videos, I would react very differently, I don’t think I would be comfortable. The idea of it is better than the reality.
Iv used porn to cope with distress and depression that I feel like I dont know anything else. How am I supposed to go on without porn if its all I know?
I often use porn when I am bored or tired
I feel at odds with who I think I am and the types of porn I watch. After watching I typically have no interest after until that urge returns. I don’t know how I’d act if I put myself in the scenes I watch but I don’t think it would be positive, the fantasy is the allure.
I feel like I should be having a sex life and because my sex life is basically non existent, I turn to porn. it’s horrible.
I’m curious why it seems to overtake me and then I find myself in the position I’m trying to avoid.
Im curious about how I can be more my authentic sexual self, to explore my sexual desires outside of porn
I feel during my first sex experience I didn’t had the experience to where to put it inside I was in good mood good shape and the feeling of a girl touching my tool and that erection I remember it was pretty good but I ejaculated and again in a hurry went for intercourse that’s where I started to falter and after that checkin on my erections while watching porn or watching porn just to check whether I get erection or not and that’s how o was tuned into porn and masturbation
