When it comes to finding any distress beneath your habits, what are you most curious about?

I’m curious about whether my partner will accept my sexual kinks

Finding alternatives that are beneficial rather than going to porn eg. Create habit to work out instead of watching, or just read a book, meditate etc

Stress and porn always go hand ot hand for me. When I feel overwhelmed. Stress is the answer. I never learnt to cope with my emotions properly in a healthy way. The analogy of the elephant and the rider was useful to me. I am curious to see how I can be okay with the elephant and still in control as the rider. I have always felt out of control when it comes to porn and compiusive masturbation.

I think realising that I’m using it as a pattern of self-soothing will help me identify this, and hopefully build habits to self-sooth in other ways

If I can find healthier practices/habits to manage distress, how long do I need to do it consistently before those practices/habits become more rewarding than going to porn and masturbation?

I want to address the childhood traumas that drove and continue to drive me to porn.g

I feel as though when I’m stressed or tired I turn to porn and unhealthy sexual behaviours

Love this!!

My curiosity is: What amount of pornography and masturbation is allowed once it has become a compulsion?

Same. I’ll act in and pass out when I’m stressed or tired. I feel like it helps, but it doesn’t always.

I’m wondering the same thing.

How long will it take for me to break all this down? I’ve had a porn/masturbation issues for years now and breaking that down and rebuilding better habits seems like too big of a wall sometimes.

Will I be able to fully recover and gain my confidence again after breaking the habit? The stress will always be there and I hope I don’t resort to my old destructive habits

I hope there is a day where I can be completely honest with my partner about my sexual kinks and authentic self and that she accepts me and loves me.

I’m curious about exploring other ways to cope and emotionally regulate. I have some kinks, fetishes etc., I’d like to explore as well, but I wouldn’t say they are the main drivers of my porn usage and masturbation habits.

Curious about this for myself as well! Porn has been my go-to for emotional regulation for years and I’m ready to expand my toolbox.

I’m curious about exploring other ways to cope as well as just having a healthier sex life in general.

I’ve learnt about the elephant and the rider and some other helpful things like surfing the wave

I know I particularly use porn not even for masturbation, but sometimes as a cope if my wife and I have had an argument or if I don’t like the way she’s treating me or if I feel I’m doing significantly more of the parenting etc

I do it because it’s a habit and feel ashamed, hopeing it’ll be my realise
